Plot
Three strangers who live in the same New York apartment building and share an obsession with true crime suddenly find themselves on a murder spree. Steve Martin actually plays a concerto in various scenes. In the first episode, the viewer learned that CHS lived above Oliver, who lived above Mabel, with that elevator scene.
I loved seasons 1 and 2, but season 3 just isn’t my thing
BUT the opener has CHS in an apartment on the 7th floor, Oliver on the 8th floor, Mabel on the 9th – in reverse order and way below CHS’s floor the series has a floor to match. Featured in AniMat Crazy Cartoon: The Rat of All My Dreams (2020). I had previously rated this series an 8, but after season 3 I had to downgrade.
The main characters seem to have different personalities
The show was warm, engaging, and funny in seasons 1 and 2, but a lot of that gets lost in season 3. I personally don’t like the theme music in season 3, but others seem to enjoy it. The revelations are obvious and easy to guess at first and not very interesting/twistful.
I would love to see the series continue, more like season 1
The writing seems a lot less serious, like they knew it was a stupid premise so didn’t put as much effort into the writing. Overall, I’m disappointed in season 3, the ending definitely wasn’t worth the 10 episode drag.
