Concord from Sony FAILURE!
Featured in YellowFlash 2: FlashCast: Monkey Man Wukun SALT! The cancellation of Star Wars The Acolyte of CHAOS! (2024). This film is based on a one-page story (mostly) about Helm Hammer from Appendix A of the LoTR book (which, by the way, is quite enjoyable to read).
The film especially well conveys the epic character of Helm Hammer-arm, depicted in the books
The dialogues and events of the book are actually largely preserved, with minor changes in details. However, the Hera presented in the film does not appear in the books at all, and some of her actions are actually committed in the original work by her cousin Freolaf. What many people like about Tolkien’s universe is its pre-industrial, simple world, where this simplicity emphasizes the theme of human nature/values and the moral order of the universe. In the “classic” films, a lot of wisdom is hidden in everyday conversations, for example: “All we have to do is decide what to do with the time we have” (LoTR) or “It’s the little things, the everyday things of ordinary people that keep the darkness at bay (The Hobbit), which I would say are eternal truths about our world, and these are lines that I think about sometimes even after the film ends.
However, this film has nothing to add in this regard
He introduces modern issues (feminism) into Tolkien’s world in such a way that it seems both foreign and imposed, ultimately undermining both Tolkien’s vision and the cause of feminism that he strives to support. It’s not as bad as RoP, but it still shows. Of course, it is not about women not being able to do anything from what is depicted in the film, or about the fact that the book must be strictly followed. It’s just that he’s not guided exclusively by love for Tolkien’s work and legacy, and it’s really visible.
But otherwise it’s not a terrible movie
I would say that it is worth watching.
